Pastor McCarty has been a life-long Lutheran, attending Lutheran grade-school and high school. He grew up in Minnesota and worked for a major filter manufacturer for 18 years, most of that time selling their products to other manufacturers. He and his wife Heather have been married for 34 years and have been blessed with two children and 4 grandchildren. God called him into public ministry in 2003. Upon graduating from Seminary in 2007 he served St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sullivan, MO for 8 years before being called to Emmanuel in June, 2016.
Denise has also been a life long member as her great-grandparents were charter members of Emmanuel. She has served as church organist since 1979. She has served Emmanuel in other ways as well. She has been a member of Church Council and is Past- President of Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League. She is also a member of the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Team where she serves as a caregiver to Miriam, Comfort Dog. Her many talents enhance our worship service and she is a blessing to our church community.
In addition to being a busy, working wife and mother, Lavon shares her time with our church by creating the weekly Sunday bulletin and power point presentations. In addition to the weekly tasks, Lavon also does the bulletin and power point presentations for all special services including Advent, Lent, Christmas Eve, and funerals.
Mickie, as her friends call her, has been a member of Emmanuel since her marriage in 1972. After her retirement as a project manager for a large healthcare system in 2015, she was looking for something to fill her time and volunteered for the Secretary position at Emmanuel. She is using her computer skills to implement and manage a church management database and website along with organizing other church records. Other responsibilities include keeping the church calendar, creating the church newsletter and assisting with special projects. Mickie is also a member of the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Team and a member of LWML.
In addition to owning and operating a garage door business, Pat helps out at the church with custodial duties.
Pat is also a member of the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Team where he serves as a ministry partner.
